How to Use Asana-monday.com Integration
Prerequisites
- A valid monday.com account.
- Basic understanding of how to navigate and use monday.com.
- A valid Asana account.
Please ensure you meet these prerequisites before proceeding with the installation of the Asana Integration app.
First Time Use Instructions
To get started with the Asana Integration Plus app, follow these steps:
- Install the app from the monday.com marketplace or by using the Add to monday button above.

- After installing the app, you will be redirected to the Admin UI. Here, you can configure the app and connect your Asana account. The first step is to authorize monday.com. Click the Authorize monday button, and you will be redirected to the monday.com authorization pop-up page. After you authorize monday.com, you will be redirected back to the Admin UI.

- On the monday.com authorization pop-up page, click on the Authorize button to authorize monday.com.

- The next step is to authorize Asana. Click on the Connect Asana button, and you will be redirected to the Asana authorization page. After you authorize Asana, you will be redirected back to the Admin UI.

- You should now see the Admin page, where you can find the Connections, Plan Usage, Automation Operations History, and Support section (in the bottom-left corner). You can also disconnect your Asana and monday.com accounts from the app by clicking the Disconnect Connection button.

- Now let's build an automation! The first step is to navigate to the Automations section in a board and choose to create a new automation from scratch. Then, choose the Asana Integration Plus trigger and action to add them to your automation.

- Now add the trigger and action from Asana Integration Plus to your automation. Configure the trigger with your workspace and project.
Then configure the action by choosing the board where you want to create items, and mapping the fields with the values from the trigger. After you choose the board, you can map the columns with Asana-specific fields. The values from these fields will be used when creating your items.
You will see an option called "Required Asana ID", but you don't need to use this field anywhere, as it is only meant for internal use between the trigger and the action.
You can find the action by searching for it in the Actions section. After you finish configuring the automation, click "Create automation".
